Local Storage

• All seating charts, classroom layouts, templates, and student data are stored in your browser's local storage

• Version 2.0.0 Update: Student names are encrypted when saved to local storage using the extension's encryption system

Sync Storage

• Version 2.0.0 Update: Auto Sync is enabled by default to provide a better user experience and to avoid data loss or corruption when using different devices
• Your seating chart data will be synchronized across your Chrome browsers using Chrome's built-in sync service when you turn on sync through Google's infastructure
• This sync feature exclusively uses Chrome's sync infrastructure, which encrypts your data during transmission
• We never have access to this data, as it remains within Google's Chrome sync ecosystem
• Version 2.0.0 Update: Student names are encrypted when saved to sync storage using the extension's encryption system
• Users can disable the Auto-sync feature, however, seating charts will only be available on one device

Data We Collect

We do not collect any data. The extension operates entirely within your browser, and we have no servers that receive information about your usage of the extension.

Permissions

The extension requires the following permissions, and here's why:

• activeTab: To access and interact with the current tab when the extension is activated
• storage: To save your seating chart data in your browser's storage
• Host permission for classroom.google.com: To function only on Google Classroom pages

Third Parties

The extension does not share data with or use services from any third parties. All data is stored either locally in your browser or in Chrome's sync service, which is provided by Google as part of the Chrome browser infrastructure.
